University Students' Perceptions of Participation Banking: A Research in Iğdır, Niğde and Tokat Provinces

Abstract
Participation banking is a banking system that operates according to Islamic finance principles and mainly evaluates the savings of customers who are interest sensitive due to their religious beliefs. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the perception and knowledge level of Iğdır University Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) and Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Erbaa Faculty of Health Sciences (EFHS) students towards participation banking. In this study, “Survey Research” was used from among the “Quantitative Research Methods.” In the study, data was collected through a questionnaire survey, which is frequently used in Survey Research, from a sample group of 237 people that was representative of the research population. Within the scope of the study, it was analyzed whether there is a statistically significant difference between the perception and knowledge levels of the students in the relevant universities and departments towards participation banking and some demographic variables and the hypotheses created within the scope of the study were tested. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that there are statistically significant differences between some demographic variables and perception and knowledge levels towards participation banking in terms of various questions.
